SEDGEFORD HISTORICAL  AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH PROJECT

Prospectus Important Information

Summer Season: Experienced volunteers who do not wish to study a course are also very welcome to join us for only the cost of their subsistence. All Summer participants must pay facilities fees.
FEES

All of our courses have a maximum number of people per week usually (10-12) and a minimum number of 4, unless otherwise stated. Places will be allocated on a first-come/first-served basis and it is recommended that you enrol before 1st June 2007 for the Summer Season.  SHARP reserves the right to cancel any courses where numbers are below the minimum on these dates.  Volunteers will be informed of cancellations as soon as possible and a full refund will be made.

 IMPORTANT

Volunteers wishing to participate in the Project's excavations, who have not previously completed a basic excavation course or who have less than 3 weeks' excavation experience must enrol for the
Basic Excavation and Recording Techniques
course.

ACCOMMODATION

EASTER: We regret that SHARP is unable to offer volunteers/students accommodation and catering for the Easter season.  Volunteers are asked to make their own arrangements and an accommodation list is available on application.

SUMMER: In addition to course fees, volunteers are expected to pay for their subsistence. (See Fees link at top of page).

SPECIAL NEEDS

SHARP operates an equal access policy for all volunteers, with a view to making history and archaeology available to everyone. We endeavour to accommodate all needs, but the nature of historical and archaeological fieldwork means that volunteers with special needs should discuss their possible contribution with us directly and prior to their visit. If you have any special needs, please make a note of them on your Application Form so that we can make arrangements.

IMPORTANT NOTES

The directors reserve the right to exclude any volunteer from the Project if, in their view, the volunteer is disruptive of the smooth running of the Project and the community within which we are based.  No refund will be made.

Although we endeavour to avoid changes to our courses, we reserve the right to do so where necessary.  Courses will be cancelled only under extreme circumstances, where alternative arrangements cannot be made or if numbers for the course are insufficient.  In such cases a full refund will be given.

All work and records undertaken or produced as part of the Project remain the property of SHARP.  All artefacts recovered by people working on the project are the property of the landowner.  Discussions will not be entered into.
